Trial of the Grave:-
Muhammad was a very superstitious person, prone to hallucinations and fearful from the evil eye; once after hearing a Jewess speak of the 'trial of the grave', he became obsessed and extremely fearful of this idea for the rest of his life.
Sahih Muslim HadithHadith 1212 Narrated byAisha
The Prophet (peace be upon him) entered my house when a Jewess was with me and she was saying: Do you know that you would be put to trial in the grave? The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) trembled (on hearing this) and said: It is the Jews only who would be put to trial. Aisha said: We passed some nights and then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
Do you know that it has been revealed to me: "You would be put to trial in the grave"?
Aisha said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) seeking refuge from the torment of the grave after this.
Sahih Muslim HadithHadith 1217 Narrated byAbuHurayrah
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: When any one of you utters tashahhud (in prayer) he must seek refuge with Allah from four (trials) and should thus say: "O Allah! I seek refuge with Thee from the torment of the Hell, from the torment of the grave, from the trial of life and death and from the evil of the trial of Masih ad-Dajjal: (Antichrist).

The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) used to seek refuge from the torment of the grave, torment of Hell and the trial of Dajjal.
*** Why would the allegedly sinless Muhammad, the beloved prophet of Allah, be so concerned and fearful from the 'trials of the grave' ?
Why was he so apprehensive if he were not guilty of some serious
offense? ***
Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 879 Narrated byAisha, Ummul Mu'minin
The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) used to make supplication during the prayer saying: "O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from the punishment of the grave; I seek refuge in Thee from the trial of the Antichrist; I seek refuge in Thee from the trial of life and the trial of death; O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from sin and debt." Someone said to him: How often you seek refuge from debt! He replied: When a man is in debt, he talks and tells lies, makes promises and breaks them.
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 3.283 Narrated byQatada
Anas went to the Prophet with barley bread having some dissolved fat on it. The Prophet had mortgaged his armor to a Jew in Medina and took from him some barley for his family. Anas heard him saying, "The household of Muhammad did not possess even a single Sa of wheat or food grains for the evening meal, although he has nine wives to look after." (See Hadith No. 685)
*** Muhammad was an authority on this subject since he rarely WORKED to earn an honest living although he had NINE wives to feed.
That is why in the final analysis he made the decision to rob, plunder and take by force what did not belong to him from the wealth, sweat and endeavours of others ***
